The Drilling Engineer will provide well engineering input and support to the Senior Drilling Engineer and Wells Team Leader for the planning and construction / operational work phases of drilling projectsComplete Description: A vacancy has opened within the team for an Operations Drilling Engineer. This role reports to the Senior Drilling Engineer and Drilling Wells Team Leader with responsibility for both planning and execution phases of a dedicated well. The full life cycle is required from planning through to execution and end of well closeout. The team are engaged in a continuous learning process which so far has delivered outstanding operational results. This requires a great deal of personal dedication and enthusiasm from the Operations Drilling Engineer as the main interface between the Wells Team and the various Service Companies. The team is also very diverse with a number of different functions involved in delivering the project. The individual to fill this role will need to be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to work on their own initiative. Undertake all planning activities with respect to well design including hydraulics, cementation, wellheads, casing seat selection and casing design. Prepare well cost estimates Develop documentation required by the Well Design and Operations Management System including the Well Basis of Design, HSE Well Notification and Drilling Program. Have a working understanding of and contribute to the risk assessment process (HAZOP and HAZID). Develop work scopes for services and review technical aspects of tenders. Liaise directly with the well service providers with respect to well planning and operational activities Chair well planning progress meetings and maintain the action tracking register. Provide daily operational support to the wellsite. Manage changes (both minor and major) to the primary well documentation. Provide weekly operational reporting to the HSE and input into company / partner progress reports Assist the Operations Accountant with daily cost tracking and forecasting. Make continuous effort to improve well construction performance by the thorough recording and review of operational lessons learnt together with well-researched applications of new tools and techniques. Collate the End of Well report and review service contractor reports in a timely manner Undertake wellsite visits Review Partner well documentation and attend partner meetings as required Skill Required / DesiredDegree qualified (engineering) Required5 -10 years experience (minimum) RequiredUKCS well planning and operations experience desired RequiredOffshore experience – jack-up and semi-submersible RequiredConversant with general well planning software RequiredOffshore medical and survival RequiredIWCF well control Required
